Ft. Worth Bike Plan

City of Ft. Worth –Thank You!  The city of Ft. Worth enthusiastically approved the addition of a bike plan to their comprehensive plan.  Well over 100 cyclists were there, in a sea of yellow shirts and bike jerseys, which made it clear to the council the will of the people.  You can make a difference and thanks for coming by and showing your support!  To read the bike plan, click here. 

A few observations from he Ft Worth City Council members:

After looking at the sea of yellow T-Shirts (handed out at the meeting) and bike jerseys, Mayor Moncrief said “I don’t see any opposition here, but there is any, God help him”. 

Councilman Joel Burns gave enthusiastic support and highlighted the benefits of cycling including….sustainability, healthy lifestyle, livable communities, clean air and its just “hip”.

Councilman Carter Burdette told everyone to “Get on a bike!”

Mayor Moncrief cited the hard work of citizens and how we can make a difference.  He also cited the importance of a healthy lifestyle by cycling, and how it is important to be a good role model for our children by being good role models for healthy lifestyles.

You can be the difference…so get out and ride, and please let your local council members know that cycling is Important!
